Southwark Council & Rotherhithe Primary School awarded Client of the Year

Last night Southwark Council and Rotherhithe Primary School were awarded Client of the Year at the Education Estates Awards in Manchester for their role in the delivery of Rotherhithe Primary School.
The award, which recognises ‘passion, direction and innovation’ that a school or Local Authority has shown in a new build or refurbishment, stands as a true testament to the vision, collaborative nature and creative ambition that both the Council and the school leadership team showed to this project.
The school, which is part of the Council’s ambitious public programme aimed at expanding and enhancing primary school infrastructure in the area, opened in 2022, replacing an outdated building which was no longer fit for purpose. Working in close collaboration with the design team at FCBStudios as well as with the wider community, the result is a building which honours its community, enhances its environment and builds the confidence of its children, embodying the vibrant, nurturing culture which sits at the heart of this school.
