A new creative hub for Sheffield's makers and creatives opens its doors.
3 September 2024
The final piece of the jigsaw, and the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the Heart of the City Development in Sheffield, Leah’s Yard opened its doors to the public at the end of August.
Once home to cutlery makers and silver stampers, this Grade II listed building has a fascinating history and has been brought sensitively back into sustainable use as a home for the city’s next creative generation. Now an independent retail and workshop hub for makers and creators based around a central public courtyard and with passages through to the surrounding Heart of the City buildings, including the recently completed Cambridge Street Collective and Elshaw House.
This renovation has created a destination for independent retail as an immersive experience, showcasing the finest Sheffield traders and creatives in a space which feels distinctly part ‘of the city’.
