Burma Tourist Building
In Brief

Turquoise Mountain

Yangon, Myanmar

December 2020

Former Ministry of Hotels and Tourism Building is one of the most important historic landmark buildings in Yangon’s Downtown. Its' fine classical architecture overlooks Mahabadoola Park to the east and the 2000 year old Sule Pagoda to the north. The new mix of sustainable uses aspires to become a model to drive heritage-led regeneration in Yangon.

The grand internal volumes will be restored to create a vibrant offer based on food, crafts and exhibitions with an urban forum. It will be crowned by a new rooftop restaurant and public garden affording some of the best views in Yangon.
