Through the experience that the Feilden Foundation has gained from designing and overseeing a number of different projects in Uganda and other African countries, this document was conceived to help organisations and/or individuals who are trying to start similar building projects.
The Ugandan School Design Guide aims to give users an understanding and raise awareness of some key issues that influence the design, implementation and realisation of educational building projects being considered from an early stage. The guide features our own building case studies for the Onwards and Upwards School, Forest High School and Lake Bunyonyi Christian Community Vocational Secondary School.
As with all such documents, it will remain relevant for a small period of time as educational and building practices change. If you have any comments on the contents please contact us and we will endeavour to bring the publication up to date as circumstances change.
The guide is available in the 'Resources' section of the Feilden Foundation website or click here to download the guide.
More Feilden Foundation Projects include: HIV Training Clinic (Phase 1), HIV Training Clinic (Phase 2), New Generation Village for Street Children and St Mulumba School
