One Brighton is the first One Planet Living community to reach completion and proves that large scale residential buildings can be sustainable, offer good design and provide a place where people can live high-quality, sustainable lifestyles, with significantly reduced carbon footprints. This is not a one-off, niche green development; OneBrighton shows that strongly sustainable schemes can work in the mainstream residential sector.
The high density mixed-use scheme is part of the New England Quarter, adjacent to the main train station; and provides 172 residential units above community and business uses.
One Brighton is a BioRegional Quintain development working in joint venture with Crest Nicholson. BioRegional Quintain formulated the development concept - based around sustainability, One Planet Living, excellence of design and community. FCBStudios were selected as Architects and worked with BQL to create the early scheme concept. Crest Nicholson was invited to join as development partners once the terms of a land purchase agreement had been formulated and the planning strategy was in place.
