Hernan finished his architecture studies in 2009 in the Basque Country University in San Sebastian, Spain. With more than 10 years in the BIM and AEC industry, Hernan gained experience in high-end residential, commercial, educational, office, financial and mixed-used projects in several offices in Spain, France and UK, having the chance to learn from different cultures and styles.
Since he joined FCBS as BIM Manager in 2019 he has contributed in the creation of BIM strategies, guides and procedures. He has been working on projects of different scales and complexities, such as Grangegorman DIT or the University of Sussex residential development with more than 24 student accommodation buildings and mixed used on the ground level, creating bespoke strategies which successfully improved the performance of the team.
At previous practices, Hernan gained experience in the BIM field in complex projects such as the Battersea Power Station or Data Centres which required the management and coordination of complex models of different disciplines.
Hernan is particularly interested in the use of new technologies in the construction, engineering and architecture fields, such as BIM, VR, photogrammetry, programming, parametric design and automation, which creates more efficient workflows.
