University of Toronto gather for groundbreaking ceremony

The University of Toronto Engineering alumni, faculty, students and staff recently gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Centre for Engineering for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CEIE).

The new hub located at the heart of the city centre campus will provide a home for the Entrepreneurship Hatchery, the Centre for Global Engineering and the Institute for Leadership Education in Engineering. In addition there will be a 480-seat interactive lecture hall, state-of-the-art collaborative classrooms and fabrication facilities.

Conceived as a 100-year building, it has an ambitious energy target of 100 kw/m2 per year and is expected to open in 2017.
