We are delighted to announce that phase two of our work, The Church and Chapel for Stanbrook Abbey are now officially open.
On Sunday 6th of September a service of dedication was held in the presence of Cardinal Vincent Nichols and the Bishop of Middlesbrough, and representatives of the English Benedictine congregation and the Ampleforth Community. The service was also attended by the Chief Executive and Chief Planning Officer of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park
Stanbrook Abbey sits on the edge of the North York Moors National Park offering peaceful seclusion important to the contemplative life of the Community. Phase one of the Abbey which consisted of the private enclosure, chapter house and guest refectory was completed in May 2009 and was awarded a Civic Trust Award in 2010.
