FCBStudios enjoyed a great night at this year’s British Construction Industry Awards with wins for our recently completed Manchester Metropolitan University Business School and The Hive Library and History Centre projects.
The highly coveted Prime Minister's Better Public Building Award – which is for projects commissioned by or on behalf of central or local government, or by a grant-aided organisation – was presented to our “significant and visually striking” MMU Business School.
The Judges commented that the project was “...Overall, a stunning building with which the client is delighted and the students love as well - a great success.”
This year’s ceremony also included the inaugural Sustainability Award to celebrate successes of best practice across the three pillars of sustainable thinking: environmental, economic and social performance. This was awarded to our new Library and History Centre in Worcester which is rated BREEAM: Outstanding. The Judges were impressed with not only the look and sustainable performance of the building, but also at how well the local community had embraced this new resource.
