Blossom Street Site housing scheme Manchester in for planning

A vacant site in Manchester that sits within the Ancoats Conservation Area to the immediate north of the city centre has gone in for planning.

The development includes 199 units of rental residential accommodation, with a mix of 1-3 bed apartments and a number of two storey town houses as well as 4,800 sq ft of commercial space. The Blossom Street Site sits between the Grade II listed St. Peter’s church, currently home to the Halle orchestra, and the Grade II listed Victoria Square, the first example of municipal housing in Manchester.

This is one of three housing schemes FCBStudios are working on with Manchester Life Development Company, who are driving the sympathetic and sustainable redevelopment of Ancoats and New Islington into vibrant and inclusive communities.

FCBStudios are also working on Murray’s Mills and the Hood Street Site.
