Following in the tyre tracks of tradition, Sunday 8th September 2013 saw the return of FCBS’ third annual office2office bike ride.
18 riders swapped their pencils for pedals to embark on the full 115 mile route from our Bath office, in the east of the city, to our centrally located London office.
With hearts full of resolve, bellies full with porridge and a van full of bananas, the 16 strong troop (and a Brompton) departed Bath at 7.30 sharp, leaving the shoeless Will G with time to make up.
The group battled weather and weariness, punctures and pain, arriving safe and well in London to a well-deserved pizza at 4.45pm.
The riders are indebted to banana van man supremo Richard Collis for his unwavering support throughout, supplying the riders with over 50 bananas along the way.
On completing the task on a 3-speed Brompton bicycle, recent ‘Ironman’ Nick Hodges said: “This was probably the toughest ride I’ve ever completed on a bicycle – at least at Kalmar I had the marathon to look forward to! I’m indebted to the superb group of support riders who kept me motivated to the very end.”
