Engineering Environmental Architecture: University of Bath 30 years onEngineering Environmental Architecture: University of Bath 30 years on
On the 17th October 2012 we hosted a conference in collaboration with the University of Bath and Buro Happold. Seven of the country’s top environmental engineers who have reached the top of their profession got together to explain what inspires them, what they think of the future of the profession and how they can have more influence particularly on the energy performance of buildings. We also threw in a couple of architects who graduated at the same time to help provide a context for a discussion on design team collaboration.
Hosted by Bath Professors Peter Clegg, David Coley, Tim Ibell with speakers: Patrick Bellew Atelier Ten, Klaus Bode BDSP, Guy Battle Deloitte, Ant Wilson AECOM, Neil Billett Buro Happold, Dave Richards Arup, Andy Ford Mott MacDonald Fulcrum, Keith Bradley FCBStudios and Selçuk Avci Avci Architects. Chaired by Paul Finch Editorial Director of Architects’ Journal and Architectural Review and Deputy Chair of the Design Council.
An impressive turnout of 300 attended the conference, including practitioners, researchers, teachers, students, writers, environmentalists, clients and contractors. Footage of the event will be made available soon.
