Planning granted for Royal Albert Wharf developmentPlanning granted for Royal Albert Wharf development
FCBStudios have received unanimous planning consent for a residential led, mixed-use development at Royal Albert Wharf in East London.
The scheme forms the second phase of the Great Eastern Quays development for Notting Hill Housing, and is made up of 468 new homes and 2,400sqm of commercial units, including buildings ranging from four to eleven storeys.
The historic Royal Docks form the largest enclosed docks in the world, surrounding nearly 250 acres of water. This exemplar scheme will take maximum benefit from its prominent river location, creating a new residential quarter with neighbouring developments. The whole area is set to gain over 9,000 new homes by 2027.
Jason Cornish, Partner at FCBStudios said 'We are delighted that our Royal Albert Wharf proposals have been granted planning permission. The design provides much needed housing within an exciting new mixed use neighbourhood formed between the Thames riverfront and the historic Dockside'
This phase two project is expected on site later in 2017 and due for competition in 2020.
