London: Design CapitalLondon: Design Capital
This major new NLA Insight Study showcases work currently being carried out by London-based consultancies in global markets, including eight projects by FCBStudios, on four continents.
London: Design Capital will uncover the global reach of London’s built environment industries. From masterplans to individual projects, the Study will celebrate the capital’s exceptional design, engineering, urban planning and consultancy skills; highlight the new skills and technologies being developed for global markets; and examine the value and future for London’s built environment industries in a post-Brexit world. The Study highlights the new skills and technologies being developed in the capital; and considers the impact that any restriction on free movement may have on the industry’s ability to continue to deliver high-quality work in volume.
FCBStudios projects include: Turquoise Mountain, Myanmar; NUI Galway Student Housing, Ireland; University of Washington Student Housing, USA; CEIE, University of Toronto, Canada; Aga Khan Academy, Dhaka, Bangladesh; National Laboratories, Amman, Jordan; Rubengera Carpentry School, Rwanda; and HIV training clinic, Muzuzu University, Malawi.
The exhibition is accompanied by a publication by New London Architecture.
London: Design Capital is part of London Festival of Architecture 2017.
