Studio Support Assistant- Bath

Studio Support Assistant- Bath

We are currently seeking a dynamic Studio Support Assistant to join our Bath studio. Providing support to the Studio Manager and the project support team, this is an excellent opportunity for a confident, outgoing individual who thrives in a busy, multi-tasked environment.

The successful candidate will play an important role in making sure our studio of around 100 staff runs smoothly each day. It is a varied role, covering everything from organising premises, managing stationery and other supplies, liaising with our finance team, and supporting reception in taking calls through to running general errands and supporting admin on projects where needed.

Excellent organisational skills are required as well as a meticulous attention to detail and an ability to meet tight deadlines when required. A background of working in a creative or architectural atmosphere would be an advantage, as well as a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs.

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday 8.45am to 5.45pm

Clerk of Works- Belfast

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Clerk of Works or Architect to join a team of Architects and Engineers employed to monitor, by inspecting and reporting to the client and the Project Manager, on the quality of the design and construction provided by the contractor.

You will inspect and report on the delivery of the new building construction project work in accordance with the Employers Requirements and the Building Contract. Through regular site visits you will prepare Health & Safety reports and ensure that the work is carried out to the required standards.

We are seeking applications from candidates registered as a Clerk of Works, with experience working on large scale projects, or qualified Architects with experience of inspecting works.

A broad knowledge of the Northern Ireland construction industry is essential, along with extensive information of the relevant legislation and statutory requirements. Knowledge of internal fit out construction systems and specifications is very important, alongside the ability to prepare and write progress reports.

This position will commence in early December 2019, running until January 2021.

Work Experience Placements- Summer 2020

Are you thinking about a career in Architecture, and keen to explore what it might be like working in an Architectural Practice? At Feilden Clegg Bradley, we are committed to building an inclusive culture which encourages development and the sharing of ideas. We are proud to fully support those at the beginning of their architectural journey.

We are committed to our partnerships with local schools & colleges, and regularly contribute with attendance at careers events, workshops and local events.

Our work experience programme has been designed for students studying towards their GCSE’s or A-levels (or equivalent.). Each student is supported by a dedicated mentor who provides guidance through a structured programme of meaningful activities.

To ensure we offer the best experience to our students we have limited the number of work experience placement available to 12 cross practice per year, ensuring each student is given a truly immersive experience.

What to expect:

On your first day you will be greeted with a warm FCBS welcome and introduced to your mentor and group.

The aim of the placement is to gain an insight into what the role of an architect involves. You will see the exciting variety of projects we work on; the environment we work in and some of the training involved in becoming a qualified Architect.

Over the course of the week long placement you will complete a series of briefs; attend a presentation of a live FCBS Project and conduct a short presentation of your completed work to your group. At the end of the week, you will be given a USB stick containing all the work you have produced whilst on your placement.

You will have plenty of opportunities to meet other FCBS employees chatting over morning coffee, afternoon tea or lunch (cooked by our on-site chef!)
