Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios is a progressive and ethical architectural practice. We design with empathy for the human condition, with science for sustainable outcomes, and with art for crafting beautiful places.

Our work is consistently recognised in major industry awards, including 60 RIBA awards, and the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize for Accordia, a scheme widely regarded as setting a new benchmark for housing in the UK.

With over 40 years of practice, we now have four offices around the UK. We remain committed to the social and cultural values which underpin our design approach.

Design

Our architecture comes from a response to place - to the physical and environmental context, its history and its potential futures.

For us, architectural design is a way of thinking about people and place, light and materials that leads to the creation of form and space that are memorable and inspirational.

We are well placed to face the challenges of the future: growing and fractured cities; climate change; changes in approaches to wellbeing; embracing the pace of technological change; increased localism. The face of architecture is changing and we continue to pioneer imaginative and inclusive ways to create exceptional buildings.  Explore our work.

Sustainability

The practice was founded with a specific ambition to produce environmentally and socially responsive design. We continue to lead the field internationally with a reputation for pioneering environmental expertise, developing innovative approaches to support the imperative transition to a zero-carbon economy.

We are experienced at working with heritage and conservation environments as well as the retrofit of more recent buildings. We are founding supporters of One Planet Living and Architects Declare.

Community

Social and environmental responsibility is at the heart of our practice.

We are committed to designing communities at home and abroad, through our work and the Feilden Foundation, that support sustainable lifestyles and accommodate different patterns of living, learning and working.

Our buildings are designed in collaboration with their communities and aim to provide a strong sense of identity for their users. Through collaboration, mentoring, teaching and sharing, we want our work to make a difference. Explore Social Value

Research

We take part in a wide programme of research in parallel with and in support of our architecture. Our research includes sustainable design and the changing approaches to living and working in cities. It enables us to be inventive and to find new, unexpected solutions as well as learning from projects in use.

We work in collaboration with like-minded consultants and we have global connections with organisations and charities that enable us to share our skills and test evolving knowledge.
