Two FCBS projects received Civic Trust Awards at the annual ceremony last Friday at the Globe Theatre in London.
South Quay Hayle, the regeneration of a redundant mining port in the Devon and Cornwall Tin and copper Mining World Heritage site received a Commendation, and The Observatory won a Pro-Tem Award for temporary structures and installations.
From 264 applications, 58 national and international projects were rewarded with a Civic Trust Award or Commendation, which included Pro-Tem temporary projects and the AABC Conservation category.
Awards are given to projects that make an outstanding contribution to the quality and appearance of the environment that demonstrate excellence in architecture or design, sustainability, universal design and make a positive social, cultural, environmental or economic benefit to the local community.
