Education, Architecture, Urbanism showcases three recent major UK University projects: Manchester Metropolitan University Business School and Student Hub, Broadcasting Place in Leeds and The Hive in Worcester.
All three projects celebrate the increasingly important role of the university within cities and their capacity to create or strengthen wider social communities. Universities are now called upon to fulfil a crucial role in urban regeneration whether social, economic or environmental. Most critically, these buildings are designed to inspire learning.
This book draws on our recent experience within three major cities and examines the complex issues faced by those who are commissioning and designing university buildings for the future, both in the UK and worldwide.
